About Me

This is a little bit about me… I know I like to know a bit about someone before I let them get anywhere near my precious horses!

I was your typical pony mad child and was lucky enough to have access to great ponies. As I got older I mainly participated in showing and dressage with my welsh section B, Jessica. As a partnership we achieved great things including experimenting in sidesaddle when I was 12. Luckily Jessica took to it like a duck to water and we were crowned Area 4 Junior Sidesaddle Champion for 4 years in a row and also were awarded the Billette Mackie Award which entitled us to a bit of funding towards the hire of the side saddle and lessons.

Since then I have worked and still work on a part time basis for Roger Clark FWCF HONS, a master farrier based in Stoke by Nayland, Suffolk and his wife Fiona. I whipped in to their pack of Bloodhounds (The East Anglian Bloodhounds) who hunted ‘the clean boot’. So basically we used to hunt people every Sunday. They would run a planned route about an hour before we set off in hot pursuit. It was a massive contrast from my previous riding experience and I loved it!

After a few tried careers and jobs my love of horses and the outdoors came out on top and I decided to enrol iat Writtle University College as a ‘mature student’ to be the first year to try one of their new science degrees, Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation. Being not overly academic I found the 3 year course challenging but over coming those challenges gave me a huge amount of confidence in myself. Hard work pays off, this is relatable to everything we do!

The course also taught me to look at horses in a much different and more methodical way. Looking at them like this enabled me to notice things and make observations that I normally may not have done. Even very small mechanical abnormalities can cause many problems and can give away many clues about horse in the way of identifying the cause of the problem.

I graduated from Writtle University College in the Summer of 2017. I am lucky enough to have some very experienced and helpful acquaintances already within the industry who have given me some fantastic advice and answered any questions that I have needed answering since going out on the road myself.

I am currently building up my client base covering Suffolk and surrounding areas. I am very flexible and will do a few evening and weekend visits to fit in around your working life and also around your busy competition schedules.
